What to compare before you commit.
- Representation. Ask about your representation before visiting or registering with a builder. Understand who each person works for.
- Home and homesite. Compare the plan, orientation, grade, outdoor space and what is actually included.
- Selections and changes. Ask for the included specifications and a written breakdown of the options you are considering.
- Timing. Discuss the construction schedule, possible delays and how your existing-home sale fits the plan.
- Inspections and handover. Ask about inspection opportunities, warranties, completion details and the process after closing.
